Youth Is Wasted On The Young

I used to work with someone who was in the movie "Rock 'n' Roll High School." It was a bit part, but it still made him one the coolest guy in whatever room he was in.

One of my kids and I watched the movie again the other day. Most parenting guides focus on teaching children to submit to authority. I hope mine learn to rebel a little too.

Corollary: Experience is wasted on the old.

Hard to believe all of the drummers outlived Joey, Johnny, and Dee Dee.

We've taught our guy that respect, and authority, is only as extensive as deserved; and that no one is always right.

But then, we're bad parents because we don't live in the suburbs and send him to an urban school. And I took him to go see Henry Rollins.
