they are opening for Foo Fighters at Summerfest, but tickets, even for bleacher seats, are 76 bucks per. Fuck a whole bunch of that.

You know, I kind of keep hoping that one of these 'songs I never hated' series comes up with a song I hate, because the comment thread will become AWESOMELY pear-shaped.

Also, FY Blogger with your picture-word-verfs.

Well, Z, if it helps, I never hated "We built this city".

Also, too, I get through the word verf torture (Wordboarding?) by zooming the crap outta the browser tab...

yeah, mikey, but you had that episode with Grace....

also, mikey is cross-pollinating the blogs. I guess now that DOMA is unconstitutional, that kind of misceblogation is fair game....

Have you been spewing your "We Built This City" hate everywhere lately, ZRM?

I didn't like that song either. The one that bugs the crap out of me right now is Bruce's "We Take Care of Our Own"... bleck...

I don't mind that one, Jennifer. I like it better when I sing along.

Although I dislike it when I think about how bad America is doing at taking care of our own, these days.

But that is not Bruce's fault, but more the fault of Cantor, Boehner, Walker, Norquist, .... you can fill in the blanks with your own rightwing shitnozzles.

For some reason it strikes me as hackneyed. It doesn't have the ring of truth that his songs often can. It sounds cliche, schmaltzy, ready to be a Ford jingle... I nearly typed jingo!

And, no, we're not taking care of our own, so it irks me on that level as well.

Mostly, we're frightened of our own. Our own are the ones who most want what we have, and who perceive it as a zero-sum competition where everything we have means they have something correspondingly less.

But then, hoo nose? That might have been the plan all along...

actually, mikey, and feel free to tell me you have experienced different, but it has been my experience that those with the least are the most willing to share and help out anybody else.
