One Toke Over The Line, Sweet Jesus

Welcome to America, where corporations have more rights than kids.

I'd like to say I'm surprised, but...

I skimmed over the article, but I seem to recall that the student wasn't even on school ground so why would the principal have any say?

I've taken the liberty of deleting and slightly rephrasing AG's comment here. No offense intended, just my paranoia kicking in:

Please excuse AG, but what the fuck?! The Supreme Court and Bush Co. take away our rights and give them to everyone but us!!!!!

Can someone go to DC to do something about this? AG is really really fed up and over this adminstration and the conservatives.

Snag, your fear of the NSA means they are winning. However, I understand for future typings.

One comment I read made the point that due to the excessively authoritarian godbaggy nature of the Fascist arm on the Court, the one decision was also likely to be fueled by the pairing of the evil weed with the saintly Jeee-bus (who, as I recall my babble teachings, was as much of a hippie as anyone and, if I had to make a judgment call, likely to be a toker).

Not to be alarmist or all "I tolya so" but the foundation for the wall this particular writing is on was laid back when corporations were deemed to be the same as a person for the purposes of political speech, and the removal of the Fairness Doctrine just means they didn't have to even fake being even handed about it anymore.

I, particularly, am more incensed by the decision that removes our right to petition the government for redress of grievances in relation to religiously oriented hosebaggery in the form of the ever-so-misnamed "Faith-Based" bullshittery.

But you knew this kind of ass-reaming was coming when the Republicans swindled two terms out of the electorate; insane corporate judg-bots were destined for the Supreme Court and it was only a matter of time before we got cornholed; the only question was going to be which hole they took us in or whether they'd create a new one?

Judging by the pattern of decisions, it seems as if it's going to be a little of each.

I apologize for the disturbing visuals inherent in this comment; but rest assured that it would probably just rate a PG on the blograter. As it is, it represents a significant amount of restraint on my part to keep it moderatley sane and free of f-bombs. In fact, a more accurate portrayal would be a paragraph of f-bombs, interspersed with the names of the conservative judges in question. feel free to edit, Snag, based on your level of disgust or paranoia. I wrote it out; that's enough and if I get the time maybe I'll open it up on my own blog.
