Actually, now that I reflect, I've seen Camper Van twice; once on the New Roman Times tour (excellent album) and once opening for REM on the Life's Rich Pageant tour.
Hardly comparable periods. But I am somewhat more partial to Cracker, because they are a little more no-nonsense. Also, Johnny Hickman is really good.
Also, Snag, if you feel like turnabout as fair play, check these places out:

Best places to see bands in Wisconsin. If you ever see anything that looks good, let me know. Most of the bands will probably also play Minneapolis, but it might be an excuse to get away from your loving family. Interesting note: All three venues are walking distance from my office.
Also, http://shankhall.com/ but they don't seem to be booking too damn much anymore.

I don't think I ever heard this song before. Cool youtuber!
P.S. Feesh spawned all over your previous post.

Excellent gratuitous Sandra Bernhard.
I have always loved that song. Seen Cracker a couple of times, too. Camper Van once.
I'll be seeing them both in January. Have I spent my money wisely?
How are you seeing both of them? Are they doing some weird combo-tour?
weird....iTunes just played a Cracker song while on full random...

Ooooo! Now I see that CVB will be at Shank Hall on Jan 3rd (no Cracker).
Still, I might have to go to that.
It is a combo tour, or at least some of the dates on the tour are combined. I'll be curious as to how they pull it off.
Well, Lowery is the only one in both bands, so it's just an extra set for him.
Also two extremely small paychecks!
